Sarah Otto, Learning Support Teacher
Sarah is an experienced learning support teacher skilled in assessing student needs and adapting curriculum and teaching techniques to suit individual learning styles. Prior teaching positions include Learning Support Teacher at the International School of Zug and Luzern in Switzerland and Inclusion Teacher at Hoover Middle School in San Francisco, CA. Her experience has ranged from working with children in preschool to grade 8 with mild to severe disabilities. Sarah feels passionate about actively encouraging students to become advocates for themselves and their education. She has a BA in Child Development from SJSU and an MA in Moderate/Sever Special Education from SFSU. Sarah is passionate about food, loves to travel and enjoys hiking with her family.
Lynn Aprile, Yoga Instructor
Lynn has been practicing and teaching yoga for over 15 years to children and adults. She was introduced to the ISC as a parent in 2008 and now enjoys sharing her gifts of yoga, art, song, and dance with the children, which are constant activities in her home with her children. Lynn also loves to cook, read the dictionary for fun, and listen to the beautiful sounds and smells of the ocean. She looks forward to working and caring for the children this year!
Darrell Rose, African Drumming Instructor
Master drummer Darrell Rose provides drumming instruction to our JK and K students. Darrell shares not only his musicianship, but his knowledge of the history of drumming and its rich oral tradition.
Kate Wisby, Music Instructor
Kate graduated with her BA in Music from Christopher Newport University, and has been teaching music lessons since 2015. She joins us for our music classes for our Toddler and Preschool children.
Diana Flanagan, PE Instructor, Roaming Assistant, and Afternoon Enrichment Instructor
Diana was born and raised in Romania where she still has family and enjoys visiting every summer with her husband and two children. She has a BA in French Language and Literature and a MA in Cultural Anthropology and has been teaching French for the past 15 years. She is very happy to join the ISC team in the Enrichment Program and to get to know all these wonderful children!
Karina Aguilar, Afternoon Enrichment Instructor
Karina is in her second year at the ISC, having already helped our families and school last year. Karina and her husband are parents of two boys, who are 6 and 8 years old. Karina arrived in the US in 2007 from Honduras. She has spent the last 10 years working with childcare in a variety of home, group and church settings. She especially enjoys drama activities with the children and loves utilizing her native Spanish at the ISC.
Nattachya Olivares, Afternoon Enrichment Instructor
Natthachya is new to the ISC this year, but she has been a regular caregiver and nanny to ISC families for over 2 years. She is a native Spanish speaker and came to the US from Venezuela. Nattachya lives here with her husband Jose and 5 month old daughter. Natthachya gained her BA in Social Communication and Journalism University Fermin Toro Barquisimeto in 2013 and completed a Masters in Economics and Organizational Communication in 2016. Nattachya loves working with the Toddlers and especially enjoys arts and crafts with them.

Sarah was born and raised in New York and moved to Charlottesville in 2016. Her education is in the medical field, but she has worked in numerous childcare positions ranging from a nanny to a head teacher at a daycare center. She truly enjoys working with children. When not working, Sarah enjoys spending time with her son and daughter.
