Welcome to the International School of Charlottesville

Engaging with a Big World can Start at a Small Space

We offer language immersion programs in either French or Spanish for children aged 2-years-old up until 4th grade. At the ISC, being bilingual is your super power and a pathway to helping students be culturally aware and global citizens. We take great pride in celebrating every aspect of language and culture, and embracing what makes us so unique.

Our Staff and Building

We embrace and celebrate our diversity and appreciate the unique experiences each of our staff bring to our school! We come from 15 different countries in Central and South America, Europe, and Africa and speak at least 10 different languages.

In January of 2023, we moved into our new purpose built facility located on Linden Avenue. With a large outdoor space and an abundance of light in our classrooms, we are thriving in our new location. Arrange for a visit to see it for yourself!

  • Inclement Weather Policy

On most occasions, The International School of Charlottesville follows the inclement weather policy of the Charlottesville City Public Schools. Information on city public school closings can be obtained by checking their website at http://charlottesvilleschools.org/, or calling 434-245-2401. Additionally, the school retains the right to close at any time during the day if the weather should suddenly change for the worse or if there is an equipment malfunction in the school building. Parents or emergency contacts will be contacted via email and via text message through Brightwheel. The first 5 days where school is canceled due to inclement weather will be covered by virtual learning. Any additional days where school is canceled will be made up at the end of the school year and parents will be notified of these dates.
