We always welcome volunteers!

Opportunities range from assistance with playground maintenance, coordinating community-building events and fundraisers like Scholastic Book Sales, and spearheading our Edible Schoolyard program.  If you have a special skill that you would like to share with the school, please let us know!

When possible, we welcome volunteers from UVA and other area schools as interns in our classrooms.  Interns should apply directly to the ISC's Head of School (see "Careers").  Because classroom volunteers are required to meet a strict set of standards, along with special training, and background checks before working with our young children, we ask that only those willing and able to make a regular commitment apply for an internship at the ISC.
